(More customer reviews)I bought this software because it was advertised as "runs silently in the background without slowing down your PC." Netbooks generally have limited resources (1GB RAM for example), so I was happy to see McAfee offer a product designed to work within the resource limits of a netbook. However, on the latest generation Dell Mini 10 - ("1012" model - 450 processor, 1GB RAM) - the product persistently uses 50% of CPU, thereby making web browsing impossibly slow. The CPU utilization remains at 50% for hours, endlessly, even after initial scan is completed and even persists with real-time access scanner disabled and no other applications running. My advice - don't believe the hype: this is not a product designed for new Netbooks - look elsewhere for a web security solution.
