When you first set the program up it may take a while depending on the size and/or number of your files, but then the daily backups are pretty quick and they run in the background. A little message pops up near your clock when it starts and when it finishes. We have it set up on two pc's and one server (all using Windows XP) and we don't seem to notice any system slow down or delays.
A few months ago I lost my data when my hard drive failed. After I got my new hard drive installed, I was able to get all my files back in about an hour. I was so estatic (any my boss was, too) that I had this program! It was a real time saver! :)
